So my eVGA 7900GT is from the first batch they released — the ones with the horrid artifacting issues — and it’s starting to go. I got really irritated and have been wanting to upgrade/sell off my old system anyway, so I bit the bullet and bought a pretty nice system. I’m going to RMA the vid card and sell my old stuff. I ended up going with: MSI 8800GTX, Asus P5n-E SLI, Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, Western Digital Raptr 74GB ADFD (a little faster than the old ones), ThermalTake Soprano DX, ThermalTake Toughpower 850W Modular PSU, 20X Liteon DVD-RW (SATA), ThermalRight HR-05 for the northbridge, and a Zalman NBF-57 for the southbridge. I think it’ll turn out well (once again, I’m skipping the Creative sound card since there’s no good hardware support in Vista).
