I’ll keep this brief. Last year was a great year in terms of career and startup moves for me. I moved to a new gig at a time that really did make me look like Nostramro and I started a company. That was great but there’s a lot I’d like to accomplish over the next year.
At Elf Island my goals are to help the team take the game to new heights, grow the user base, and get a paid launch out the door so we can generate revenue. Monies are good for any company but especially critical for startups for obvious reasons. I also happen to love the environment so I’d like the company to prosper. So far, so good. We’ve made some huge strides in recent weeks to bring code quality and performance up. There’s always more to do, of course.
As for return7, we currently gross somewhere between [...] per month — not much after taxes, expenses, etc. We’d like to take that to 10k/month by the end of 2009. If sales hold up and our next app scales revenue it’ll be within reach. That’s being realistic and of course assuming the iPhone app market holds up. Sales have dropped slightly since the holiday gift card pool dried up but they’re still up overall. If our next app booms into the top 10, then we’ll meet our annual goal in the first week of release, but that’s shooting for the stars. I’ll detail the app some other time when we’re ready to announce it.
